The Rutherford County Board of Education has approved a grandfather option for those students who were affected by the rezoning for the new Rocky Fork Middle School, which will open in August 2017. To qualify for the grandfather option, the student must be an existing sixth- or seventh-grader at Rock Springs Middle School, who has been rezoned to the Rocky Fork Middle School. To exercise the grandfather option, parents must complete a zone exemption application and submit it to the Rutherford County Schools’ district office no later than Feb. 28, 2017, and agree to provide transportation. I have provided a link below to the Rutherford County Zone Exemption webpage.
