About Mr. Elliott

This is my 20th year of teaching (mostly science with some math classes too). It is my 16th year teaching for Rutherford County Schools, and this is my 13th year at Rock Springs Middle. I taught middle school science for 16 1/2 years (mostly 8th grade, one year of 7th grade science, and 1/2 year of 6th grade science). The 2023-2024 school year will be my 4th year as a STEM teacher.
I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University (1999, 3.8 GPA) with an education degree, and in 2017 I earned a Master's degree in education leadership through Carson-Newman University (4.0 GPA). I served as a science department chair for 10 years, and I was honored as the 2015-2016 RCS district-level middle school teacher of the year. Additionally, I am a retired US Army officer with 20 years military service. Also, I am our school's robotics team coach, and each year we compete in one or more robotics events. I am a dedicated STEM advocate.
