Welcome back, 8B folks! I'm so excited to be your 8th grade English teacher this year, and I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you.
Check your grades regularly through Skyward using your assigned username and password. If you need assistance with your Skyward login information, visit or call our office 615-904-3825 ext. 0. Use Clever to access assignments in Schoology.

About Me

Background
I grew up in Knoxville, TN with my mom, Suzanne, and younger sister, Savannah. My mom is remarried to Steven, and I have two brothers, Nick and Ben. Ben got married 3 years ago to my new sister-in-law Anna, and my sister Savannah married my new brother-in-law Russell this past February!
Of course I'm a Tennessee Vols fan! I graduated from Karns High School, home of the mighty beavers, in 2011 before going to college at MTSU.
I graduated from MTSU in 2015 with my bachelor's in English Education, and I then taught college composition for two years prior to that at Miami University of Ohio. For the past three years, I've taught 9th, 10th, and 11th grade English, but this is my second year teaching 8th grade!
Special Interests
I love sweet tea, pasta, and all baked goods. Coffee is a must first thing in the morning -- if I haven't had my cup for the day, watch out!
My favorite TV shows include The Office, New Girl, Gilmore Girls, and Parks and Rec. I've watched all of them way too many times to be healthy! My favorite movie is The Phantom of the Opera, and my favorite color is all shades of purple.
I played clarinet for over 10 years, including high school marching band and then college marching band. Go Big Band of Blue, home of the funkiest marching band around!
