CW: * Read & Discuss sections 2.1 Church Authority- Lay Investiture Controversy - that is the dispute of rulers appointing church officials or popes appointing church officials.
Students should discuss the conflict between Henry IV Holy Roman Emperor and Pope Gregory VII and explain the Concordat of Worms that ended the conflict.
Students should be able to timeline the story.
