What is Student Council?
Student Council is a student-led club that is focused on the service of others. We especially strive to serve our school by supporting our teachers through gifts and assistance and by encouraging student morale. The goal of the organization is to prepare students to be successful in areas of life such as leadership, social networking, and planning. As such, members in Student Council should be prepared to share their ideas, their talents, and their time.
Student Council Policies
Grade policy-As a Student Council representative, you must not have any grade lower than a “C." For the first offense, the member will be placed on probation. Subsequent offenses will result in suspension from the council for the remainder of the school year. Grades will be checked on report cards.
Conduct policy-Students may not receive OSS, or they will be removed immediately from Student Council. Members who receive ISS, Time Out, detention, or have inappropriate conduct in class will be placed on probation for the first offense. Subsequent offenses will result in suspension from the council for the remainder of the school year.
Attendance policy-Students are expected to attend all meetings and events in which Student Council participates. Our meetings will be held BEFORE SCHOOL IN THE LIBRARY. Excessive unexcused (3+) absences will constitute removal from Student Council.
T-shirts-Every Student Council member will receive a club shirt which should be worn for club events.
