AUTHOR EVENT! Sheila Turnage, a Newberry Honor Award-winning mystery author, will be visiting our school in October! Book club members will get a chance to meet the author; listen to her talk about herself, her books, and her writing process; and ask questions. Visit her webpage and click "Books" at the top to see what she's written, or visit our school library to check out one of her books!

Meeting Information

The book club will meet once a month on a Thursday from 3:15-4:15 p.m. in the school library. Each month, we will have a themed book discussion during club time on books chosen by students in the club. This year, we will be reading books that were nominated for the Tennessee Volunteer Book Award.

May 7th - End-of-Year Party (Fun Book-Themed Event)

Students must have a signed permission form turned in to participate (attached below). Permission slips can be found in the library, on the door of Room 201, or attached at the very bottom of this page and need to be returned to Mrs. Sprinkle (library) or Mrs. DuFault (Room 201). Enrollment is open through September 15th.

Book Club Dues / Fees

Book Club Dues: There are no fees this year thanks to the sponsorship of Read to Succeed!

*Field trips may require an extra charge that can be paid in the SchoolCash app or by cash/check.

In addition to having book discussions, we also plan to complete book-related activities* throughout the year. Possibilities include:

Battle of the books (dependent on funding) or Quizbowl
