Meeting Information

The book club will meet once a month on a Thursday from 3:15-4:15 p.m. in the school library. Each month, we will have a themed book discussion during club time on books chosen by students in the club. This year, we will be reading books that were nominated for the Tennessee Volunteer Book Award.

Students must have a signed permission form turned in to participate (attached below). Permission slips can be found in the library, on the door of Room 201, or attached at the very bottom of this page and need to be returned to Mrs. Sprinkle (library) or Mrs. DuFault (Room 201). Enrollment is open through September 15th.

In addition to having book discussions, we also plan to complete book-related activities* throughout the year. Possibilities include:

Read Across America Event: reading to elementary children
Movie Night (based on a book)
Book Tasting
End-of-year Party
Dress as your favorite book character (October 31)
Writing / Illustrating a Children's Book
Battle of the books (dependent on funding) or Quizbowl
Book Games (kahoot, blookit, book-title Pictionary, etc)
Book Personality Quizzes
Table Read
Smyrna Library Field Trip (maybe)
