  •       All athletes must have a completed physical dated April 15, 2026 or after in order to begin conditioning with the team. No exceptions will be made. A copy of the proper physical can be found on the Rock Springs Middle webpage under Athletics. Click on the link “Forms”. You must have each form completed before conditioning. All medical documents will be turned into Final Forms including the physical and copy of insurance card.  The player information sheet will also be turned into the coaching staff.

 

  •     Conditioning will begin on Tuesday, May 19th, from 3:15 pm to 4:30 pm.
         Conditioning days will be:
        Tuesday, May 19th
        Wednesday, May 20th
        Thursday, May 21st
        Tuesday, May 26th
        Wednesday, May 27th
    

 

  •     The conditioning sessions are the tryout!
 
  Team will be announced Monday, May 19th

 

  •        July practices will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays. Attendance will be taken for each practice and will be taken into account when rosters are made for meets. Meet in car rider area with proper athletic shoes and clothing for indoor and outdoor If you have competed in Cross Country in the past, you know that you will be competing in warmer temperatures. Therefore, we need to train in warmer temperatures. Please make sure to bring plenty of water and a hand towel. If you have an inhaler for asthma, you need to bring that as well.

TRYOUTS FOR INCOMING 6TH GRADERS AND TRANSFER STUDENTS WILL BE JULY 14TH, 15TH, AND 16TH.  

 

 

 

 



What is Cross Country?
 
Cross Country is like walking outside on a trail only faster. Cross country courses are laid out on an open or woodland area. Courses will be grass-covered (mostly), and have rolling terrain with frequent but smooth turns. Courses consist of one or more loops, with a long straight at the start and another leading to the finish line.

It is very important that you start as soon as you can. Conditioning usually starts at the end of May. Conditioning is used to prepare athletes for racing and to prevent injury.
