About Mr. Elliott

This is my 21st year of teaching (mostly science with some math classes too). This is my 17th year teaching for Rutherford County Schools, and this is my 14th year at Rock Springs Middle. I taught middle school science for 15-plus years (8th grade for 14 years, 7th grade for one year, and 6th grade for 1/2 year). The 2024-2025 school year will be my 5th year as a STEM teacher.
I graduated from Middle Tennessee State University (1999, 3.8 GPA) with an education degree, and in 2017 I earned a Master's degree in education leadership through Carson-Newman University (4.0 GPA). I served as a science department chair for 10 years, and I was honored as the 2015-2016 RCS district-level middle school teacher of the year. Additionally, I am a retired US Army officer with 20 years military service. Also, I am our school's robotics team coach, and each year we compete in one or more robotics events. I am a dedicated STEM advocate.
