Intro to Social Health (Teen Living)

Welcome to Intro to Social Health (Teen Living) class at Rock Springs Middle!
I am a graduate from Middle Tennessee State University. I have been teaching for 12 years and I have my master's degree through MTSU for Administration & Supervision. This is my 11th year at RSMS. I taught 6th grade math, Physical Education, and Teen Living.  I enjoy teaching these students to live a healthy lifestyle.

Purpose of Course: This course includes the students learning about components of healthy lifestyles and relationships, communication skills, relationship development, technology uses, and career exploration while using some WBL activities. This course will also provide community speakers about these topic including OH4M and 4H.

Essential Learning Skills:

6th grade- I can distinguish how to live a healthy lifestyle involving nutrition, exercises, and safety.
6th grade-I can examine life span development by analyzing and exploring developmental changes.
7th grade -I can  identify healthy relationships and communication skills.
7th grade -I can  determine how to use technology appropriately and effectively.
8th grade-I can  analyze their career path.
8th grade-I can  understand the importance of resource management.
All grades- I can  demonstrate safe food and equipment handling
